About Competition
Global Peace Photo Award 2024, organised by Edition Lammerhuber, now is calling for entries accepting submissions from all photographers from anywhere in the world.
The Global Peace Photo Award 2024 continues its tradition of celebrating outstanding photographic art that fosters peace. Inspired by the pioneering efforts of Alfred Fried and Tobias Asser, 1911 Nobel Peace Prize Laureates, this competition seeks images that encapsulate the ideal of a harmonious future where peaceful coexistence prevails. The award underscores the power of visual storytelling to influence, inspire, and inform global communities about the importance of peace. It promotes a wide array of photographic works, ranging from personal artistic expressions to powerful photojournalistic accounts, all unified by the theme of peace.
The Global Peace Photo Award recognizes and promotes photographers from all over the world whose pictures capture human efforts towards a peaceful world and the quest for beauty and goodness in our lives. The award goes to those photographs that best express the idea that our future lies in peaceful coexistence.
You may enter several photographs as individual submissions without an overall theme. Or you can submit up to 12 photographs as one story. For each submission (single image or story) you need a caption in English, maximum length 2000 characters.
The photographs must not be older than 3 years at the time when the call for entry opens.
The jury will judge the photographs on artistic merit, originality, subject and style, based on the theme of peace.
Submission requirements
➜ Digital submissions must be saved as .jpg, with more than 3000 pixels on the longest side. Images must not include any embedded marks, logos, names or borders.
➜ For each submission (single image or story) you must have a caption in English, maximum length 2000 characters. Please keep your text as short as possible, jurors like short, essential texts.
Eligibility
The Global Peace Photo Award is open to all photographers from anywhere in the world.
Prize
The Peace Image of the Year will receive 10,000 EUR. The awarded image will be exhibited at the Austrian Parliament for one year and included in its permanent art collection. Additionally, all winners will receive the Alfred Fried Peace Medal and will be invited to the award ceremony in Vienna, with travel expenses and accommodation provided.
