Arquine Competition No.25 | MEXTRÓPOLI 2023 Pavilion now is over!
Arquine recently has announced its international competition for design, build and activate a pavilion in the Historic Center of Mexico City within the framework of the MEXTRÓPOLI Architecture and City Festival.
About Competition
Arquine celebrates 25 years calling the Contest with the aim of promoting competition as part of architectural culture. From the first editions, ideas were summoned and rewarded.
Today, the contest invites you to design, build and activate a pavilion in the within the framework of the MEXTRÓPOLI Architecture and City Festival; a pavilion that, temporarily inserted in the city, manages to generate, from its own discourse, an innovative and sustainable proposal; that allows the development of an open public program and that builds a place for interaction between architecture and citizenship.
Contestants must project a piece that meets the conditions specified in the rules of this contest in terms of time, costs and characteristics, considering the ability to provoke and attract the public, which will be a fundamental part of the evaluation of the proposal.
The proposals must be unpublished and not have been presented or awarded in previous contests. Each contestant or team may submit only one proposal.
Results will be announced on November 14th, 2022.
Submission requirements
A digital image containing the proposal must be delivered for the correct understanding
of the project. This image should include:
➜ Overall plan, plans and sections of the proposal with a duly specified scale that is
suitable for reading and understanding.
➜ Diagrams, views, sketches, collages or any other representation of free technique that helps to express the idea of the project.
➜ Construction details that they consider necessary for the description of the project with a scale duly specified and adequate for reading the project.
➜ Descriptive text of a maximum of 250 words. The descriptions or texts may only be in Spanish or English.
➜ The image must be rectangular, horizontal, 90 cm (width) x 60 cm (height) in 72 DPI, JPG and no larger than 5 MB so that it can be uploaded into the system.
Eligibility
Architects, designers, urban planners, sociologists, students and/or the like, from all over the world, individually or as a team, can participate.
Prize
The 1st place winner proposal will be constructed and the winner will recive $100,000 Mexican pesos, the 2nd place will recive $50,000 Mexican pesos and the 3rd place $25,000 Mexican pesos.
Entry fees
Entry fee from October 17th till December 5th, 2022 cost $ 1,250.00 MXN (65 USD). After that period end the amount of the fee will increase.
