IPA (International Photography Awards) announced the launch of the second Oneplus Photography Awards, a collaborative initiative with a mission to elevate and support photographers from all over the world.
About Competition
The (IPA) International Photography Awards today announced the launch of the second Oneplus Photography Awards, a collaborative initiative with a mission to elevate and support photographers from all over the world.
The International Photography Awards is an annual competition for professional, non-professional, and student photographers from all over the globe, creating one of the most ambitious and comprehensive competitions in the photography world today.
The mission of IPA is to recognize and support extraordinary photography masters and discover emerging talents while also providing them with a platform to share their works and become known on an international level in the photography community.
The newest edition of the competition aims to explore and push the boundaries of mobile photography as well as highlighting the achievements of visual storytellers from every corner of the globe. As the "Official Smartphone of IPA", OnePlus demonstrates its commitment to the photography industry by continuously developing mobile technology for users to uncover new possibilities in capturing their creative vision.
Categories
➜ Advertising - This category is for commercial images used to sell, market, promote or advertise a product, service, or person(s).
➜ Analog/Film - This category is for photography that uses non-digital methods of capturing images.
➜ Architecture - This category is for architectural photography, buildings or structures, interior or exterior, and any part thereof; dynamic images of architecture or architectural details.
➜ BOOK - This category is for bodies of work published in book form. Eligible books include exhibition catalogues, prototypes, proposals, independently published, self-published, traditional, limited edition, multi-author, single-author, intersectional, zine, handmade, re-issue, and more.
➜ Deeper perspective - In this category, we ask the photographer to submit both a series of images and a body of text that tells the story behind the images. Jurors weigh both the images and the text when judging these entries.
➜ Editorial/Press- This category is for images usually meant to accompany text, illustrate a story, article, or an idea within the context of a publication, and can cover a wide range of subjects.
➜ Event - This category is for photographs featuring occurrences and people at any special event or occasion.
➜ Fine Art - This category should feature images where the intention is aesthetic, revealing the subjective, creative vision of the artist, photos that express an idea, a message, or an emotion through the image and the technique used to create it.
➜ Moving Images/Video - This category asks for a short, cohesive moving image piece, no longer than 5 minutes. Stop-motion films, videos, slideshows, etc. are all accepted.
➜ Nature - This category is for photography that is devoted to displaying natural elements such as landscapes, wildlife, plants, and close-ups of natural scenes and textures.
➜ People - This category is for photographs where people are the focus, whether a single person or a group, showing the human aspect of life in all its wonderful variety.
➜ Special - This category is for the more “niche” genres of photography, and those using special techniques or technology to achieve the finished product.
➜ Sports - This category is for all sports-related photography, editorial or artistic, featuring any competitive or recreational sport.
Submission requirements
➜ All photographers must submit their work online. Digital files are required. Prints are not accepted as part of the competition. Digital images submitted should be saved as .jpg, compression HIGH, in RGB format and not exceed 4 MB per file, at 72dpi.
Eligibility
The >STRONG>IPA competition>/STRONG> is open to any living photographer, 18 years of age or older, from any country. Professional photographers will be judged against other professionals and non-professionals against other non-professionals and students.
Prize
The 13 Category winners in the Professional Categories will each receive a $1,000 cash prize, and the 13 Category winners in the Non-Professional Categories will each receive a $500 prize. Each of the above winners will also receive two tickets to attend the Lucie Awards Gala in New York city, where they will be finalists for the following titles: The International Photographer of the year (professinal categories) and Discover of the year (non-professional categories).
Entry fees
Each entry for single image for Professionals is $35, for Students is $15 and for non-Professionals is $25. For a Series (2-9 images) for Professionals is $60, for Students is $30 and for non-Professionals is $50.
