2018 Meitar Award for Excellence in Photography

2018 Meitar Award for Excellence in Photography now is over!
The 2018 Meitar Award for Excellence in Photography has been recently opened for entries, organised by PHOTO IS:RAEL and the Zvi and Ofra Meitar Family Fund, now in its 3rd year awards photographers whose work has demonstrated excellence in the field of photography.
About Competition
The Meitar Award is an international prize awarded for excellence in the field of photography, an initiative of PHOTO IS:RAEL, a non-profit community and the Zvi and Ofra Meitar Family Fund.
Now on its 3rd year, the Meitar Award is awarded to a photographer whose work has demonstrated excellence in the field of photography.
By submitting your work, you will have the opportunity to showcase it to a world-class jury, and have the chance to win a grant of $14,000 that includes a one-year long cooperation with a curator and a solo exhibition.
Submission requirements:
• You may submit 1 entry only.
• All images must be in JPEG/JPG format, at least 1000px on their long side and no bigger than 2mb each.
• There is no restriction to submitting work that has already been part of other photo competitions.
• Any manipulation of the photo is possible.
Judges are looking for a unique and interesting personal language expressed in a body of work. By the terms ‘body of work’ we are referring to a group of separate images united together around a particular theme, or a number of pictures that when shown together make up a cohesive whole.
All works will be judged on originality and fluency. The jury will choose the body of work which in their opinion has the potential to form a part of an upcoming solo exhibition.
The jury, compiled of internationally renowned professionals, will select a shortlist of 20 finalists whose works will be officially announced and presented in a group exhibition at the Israel Photography Festival in Tel Aviv during the month of November 2018. Following the finalists’ exhibition at the International Photography Festival in Tel-Aviv in November 2018, the exhibition will move to Head On in Sydney where it will be exhibited in May 2019.
The early registration fee is $42 per series. Please note that starting from September 7 the entry fee will become $54.
