The Celsys, the makers of popular creative software Clip Studio Paint, will hold the 24rd edition of its international illustration competition dedicate to artists worldwide and this time themed ’Skies, Space, & Stars’.
About Competition
The 24th International Illustration Contest, organised by the Celsys, the makers of popular creative software ’Clip Studio Paint’, now is calling for entries!
The theme for this year competition is ’Skies, Space, & Stars’.
The bright daytime sky that softly wraps around us, the twinkling stars that show us the existence of the universe... How do you imagine the sky, cosmos, and all the celestial bodies within? Organizer invites you to submit your own illustrations around this theme. You could even include people and animals that are based on the sky or universe in some way.
Submission requirements:
➜ Submissions must be original artworks (suitable for all ages) created by the applicant.
➜ Derivative works (dojinshi, fan art, reproductions) are not accepted.
➜ Submissions may be created in any software. If you don’t own any digital software, you can try creating your submission with the free trial of Clip Studio Paint. You can download it on the official website.
➜ Submited works need to be up to 5 MB in .png or .jpg format.
➜ You can submit illustrations of any size, but it is recommended A4 size entries at 300dpi (2480 x 3508 pixels). You can also submit smartphone-size images of 854 x 480 pixels.
The winning pieces will be judged on quality, thematic relevance, and originality. Although not a deciding factor, retweets and likes will also be taken into consideration during the judging process.
Results will be announced on August 6, 2020.
There is no entry fee to participate!
Eligibility
This International Illustration Contest is open to artists worldwide.
Prize
➜ Gold prize: 200,000 JPY (approx. US $1,840)
➜ Silver prize: 50,000 JPY (approx. US $460)
➜ 3rd–5th place: Clip Studio Paint EX download version or 10,000 JPY
➜ 6th–10th place: Clip Studio Paint PRO download version or 5,000 GOLD
Honorable mentions will be awarded as well.
