4th Cappellini Design Contest 2018: Tales and tables

4th Cappellini Design Contest 2018: Tales and tables now is over!
Italian institute Marangoni and company Cappellini launch the 4th edition of the international design contest ’Tales and Tables’ for the creation of a table, linked to the concepts of ’conviviality’ and ’technology’.
About Competition
International design contest organised by Marangoni e Cappellini titled "Tales and tables" has been recently opened for entries, inspired by the concept of conviviality, a special dimension in which people share moments of daily life and social cohesion, in this case around a table, not only to eat together, but also to work or simply communicate.
On the other hand its inspired also by the concept of technology is linked, which has now drastically influenced these moments of conviviality, resulting for many people as an element of strong disorder; but looking at this phenomenon from another perspective, we see that technology allows people to share important moments and not their lives even with people physically distant, thus acquiring a very positive connotation.
This design contest has the objective of inviting the participants to tell what they think of the two concepts, widespread conviviality and technology, through the design of a table with or without technological elements.
Submission Guidelines:
Two tables in A3 format:
1) In the first you will have to indicate your image search and write your interpretation of the project, indicating what is the purpose of your project (maximum 100 words overall);
2) In the second, you will show your project through drawings and / or photos of models and / or 3D renderings. At least a small technical drawing with quotas is mandatory.
A jury composed of the executive body of the School of Design, together with prominent Italian and international design professionals will evaluate the projects on the basis of consistency with the theme of the competition, innovation and ability to synthesize the concept.
