4th Chaniartoon International Comic & Animation Festival 2020 now is over!
The 4th edition of Chaniartoon - International Comic & Animation Festival is calling for entries inviting submissions of animation short films from all around the world, made both by students and professional.
About Competition
The 4th edition of ’Chaniartoon - International Comic & Animation Festival’ now is accepting submissions! This year festival will be held in Chania, from 11 to 20 September of 2020.
The Festival, is designed to showcase animation short films from all around the world, made both by students and professional. There will be a special section for greek animation movies.
During the festival there will be a comic exhibition with a great artist alley, workshops and some special events!
To participate in Chaniartoon Comic exhibition:
The theme of this year is “Chania and…?” and the NUMBER ONE answer is: YOUR answer!
Participants should submit original art: cartoon, strip, comic, caricature or anything creative that answers the question, “Chania and…?” Art can be mainstream, extreme, or even surreal - ALL authentic ’answers’ are correct!
Submissions should be A3 in dimension, from 1 to 3 pages.
Selected artists will be announced later In June.
To participate in a Chaniartoon Comic Contest:
The awards will be for Best Comic, Best Self-Publishing, Internet Comic, Best Cover, Best Script, Best Illustration.
The comic is required to have been published in the period 2019-2020.
Comic that will be quilified for 2nd phase, will be called to send a copy of the comic to the organization of the festival for the final judgment.
Artists that participate in the contest or in exhibition will have priority in Artist Alley 2020.
During the 4th Chaniartoon - International Comic & Animation Festival, Artist Alley will take place from 18 to 20 of September. To participate you need to fill up the form on the official website. It is also required to grant a copy of the material that will be in the festival (comic, graphic novel etc.) to the organization for the setup of Chania Comic Library. Artists that will be chosen will be announced on June.
The 4th edition of ’Chaniartoon - International Comic & Animation Festival’, will be held in Chania, from 11 to 20 September of 2020.
Participation in Artist Alley will have a cost of 50 euros that includes:
• Ferry Tickets Pireus-Chania-Pireus
• Accomodation for 2 nights (Friday 18 September ckeck-in, Saturday 19 Septemer check-out)
• Meal
• Desk at the festival with dimensions 50x80cm.
