AOI - World Illustration Awards 2019 now is over!
The World Illustration Awards, the most comprehensive and significant award and illustration competition in the UK organised by (AIO) Association of Illustrators in partnership with the Directory of Illustration, has been recently opened for entries for 2019 inviting all illustrators in any country working in any medium or content to partecipate.
About Competition
The World Illustration Awards 2019 is now opened for entries, the most comprehensive and significant award and illustration competition in the UK organised by (AOI) Association of Illustrators in partnership with the Directory of Illustration.
World Illustration Awards is the most prestigious juried illustration Awards globally, respected by illustrators, agents and commissioners alike. This award promotes exceptional work by illustrators and presents illustration as a major force in global visual culture.
Following WIA’s most successful year ever in 2018, they are delighted to announce an array of brand-new prizes for 2019, giving more chance than ever for winning illustrators to gain recognition and opportunities for career growth.
The World Illustration Awards has eight categories that reflect the breadth and diversity of illustration being commissioned globally today:
• Advertising
• Books
• Children’s Books
• Design
• Editorial
• Site Specific
• Site Specific
• Research
Categories are very broadly defined to welcome work of all types and in all contexts where illustration is used.
Submission requirements:
• The work you enter can be in any medium, and realised or published in any format. The work doesn’t have to be commissioned but has to have been created or published after 1 January 2018.
• Work must be entered as either a New Talent entry or a Professional entry. New Talent entrants are students or those within 2 years of graduation / entering the illustration world. Professional entrants are all other professional illustrators.
• Entrants can submit as many entries as they choose and in as many different categories as they feel is appropriate.
One of the 8 Professional Category Winners will be proclaimed the WIA2019 Overall Professional Winner at a prestigious ceremony in central London. Moreover, this year, the AOI is proud to announce the introduction of three new prizes: an AOI Member’s Prize, a Directory of Illustration Award, and SAA Agents Award for New Talent. Prizes include agent representation, portfolio promotion and business support.
Entry fees per Single Entry is 25 GBP, instead per Multiple Entry is 45 GBP.
Eligibility
The AOI - World Illustration Awards 2019 is open worldwide to illustrators over the age of 18 working across all sectors and in any medium.
