2016 Black & White International Award
2016 Black & White International Award now is over!
The cultural organization ’Immagine latente’ is launching for the first time an international photography competition for 2016 entirely dediacted to black an white photography accepting submitions either in analogue or in digital format.
About Competition
Through the use of photography’s universal language the Black and White this international photography competition aims to promote the dialogue among different cultures and people with the intention to enhance on a large scale the divulgation and rediscovery of black and white art, a source of beauty and evocative power able to give immortality to images and to express every day life intensity and feelings.
The categories of the competition are following:
People choice
- Candidate may submit 1 picture.
- You need to provide a brief decription of the work.
- If entering analogue photos please submit scans.
- Images will be loaded on B&W International Award Rome Facebook page in order to be voted by people.
- All formats (i.e. 35mm, medium/large format, panoramic etc) will be accepted.
- Digital file must be jpg and longest dimension should not exceed 3500 pixels (300dpi).
Best photo sequence
- Candidates will enter a minimum of 3 photos to a maximum of 6.
- You need to provide a brief decription of the work.
- If entering analogue photos please submit scans.
- All formats (i.e. 35mm, medium/large format, panoramic etc) will be accepted.
- Digital files must be jpg and longest dimension should not exceed 3500 pixels (300dpi).
Best single shot
- Candidate may submit 1 picture or up to 3 pictures at the special discounted entry fee of 20 Euros. (The ones who participates in the competition for Best Single Shot x3 competes for the same category of Best Single Shot. Although they had 2 more chances)
- You need to provide a brief decription of the work.
- If entering analogue photos please submit scans.
- All formats (i.e. 35mm, medium/large format, panoramic etc) will be accepted.
- Digital file/s must be jpg and longest dimension should not exceed 3500 pixels (300dpi).
Best instant photography
- Candidate may submit 1 picture.
- You need to provide a brief decription of the work.
- Please submit a scan of the instant picture. Also it will be required to prove evidence of it (for example by submitting a short video) . In case of victory the original picture will have to be submitted prior to awarding.
- Digital file must be jpg and longest dimension should not exceed 3500 pixels (300dpi).
Submissions rules:
- Submitted Photo(s) must be in JPEG format, with high quality and resolution (300ppi, 3500 pixels longest side in RGB) of a minimum 2 MB in size and suitable for publication.
- ONLY black and white Photos are permitted.
- All submitted Photos must not contain any tag(s), signature(s), initial(s), frame, border(s), logo(s) or any other references and/or marks added by the Participant.
- Photos that portray or otherwise include inappropriate and/or offensive contents, including violence, pornography and/or any other contents deemed to be contrary to the cultural and/or public morals traditions and practices will be disqualified.
- Submitted Photo(s) must be a single work of original material created and/or taken by You, must not contain any materials owned or controlled by a third party for which You have not obtained a license, must not infringe the copyright, trademark, moral rights, rights of privacy/publicity or intellectual property rights of any person or entity.
- Copyright of the images will remain at all times with the photographer.
The focus of the “Immagine latente” cultural organization is on the making of unique works as opposed to mass production of images.
Entry fee for this photography competition start at 10 Euro and vary depending on the type of entry submitted.
Eligibility
The Black & White international photography competiton is open only to photographers, amateurs or professionals, who have reached the age of majority in their jurisdiction of residence.
