Ceramics of Italy Tile Competition now is accepting entries for 2020 with the aim to recognize the work of top North American architects and designers who feature Italian ceramic tiles in their institutional, residential or commercial spaces.
About Competition
The Confindustria Ceramica (the Italian Association of Ceramics) and the Italian Trade Agency are proud to announce 27th edition of design competition Ceramics of Italy Tile Competition.
The Ceramics of Italy Tile Competition each year award the work of top North American architects and designers who feature Italian ceramic tiles in their institutional, residential or commercial spaces..
There are four categoies:
• Institutional
• Residential
• Commercial
• Student
Guidelines:
Commercial, residential institutional projects completed within the last five years (January 2015 - January 2020) are eligible in the built categories. Projects can be new construction or renovation and domestic or international as long as the architect or designer is based in North America.
As it is a competition celebrating ITALIAN TILE, projects must feature ceramic or porcelain tile from at least one member company of Ceramics of Italy.
You can use mix-medium, but a significant portion of the project should include Italian CERAMIC/PORCELAIN tile.
Multiple submissions are permitted.
A panel of design experts will judge the projects based on their creativity, functionality, sustainability and aesthetic appeal. The of cial criterion for the jury includes: overall design of the project, innovative use of tile, tile design, degree that tile enhances the setting and the project’s sustainable attributes.
Winners will be notified in March and officially announced at the Ceramics of Italy Press Conference at Coverings, held April 20-23, 2020 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, New Orleans, Louisiana.
There is no entry fee to participate!
Eligibility
The Ceramics of Italy 2020 Tile Competition is open to all North American architects, interior designers and students. Students can work in teams or individually and must be enrolled at an accredited university in North America to be eligible.
