FIIN - Biodiversity Photography Competition 2018 now is over!
Organised by the Municipality of Vila Real and Zona Livre, the Biodiversity Photography Competition 2018 has as main objective to promote the theme of biological natural heritage, namely the natural regions, the ecosystems, the habitats and the species of wild fauna and flora, through the selection and classification of photographs related to this theme.
About Competition
Biodiversity Photography Competition 2018, recently announced and organised by the Municipality of Vila Real and Zona Livre has as main objective to promote the theme of biological natural heritage, namely the natural regions, the ecosystems, the habitats and the species of wild fauna and flora, through the selection and classification of photographs related to this theme.
This photography competition is also intends to promote nature photography and promote its growth and development, in addition to launching the debate and reflection of society on the need of knowing, promoting and conserving biodiversity.
The theme of the Contest is the wildlife
There are four categories:
• Birds
• Other Fauna
• Flora and fungi
• Landscapes and natural habitat
Only works that deal with wild fauna and flora will be accepted. In the category "Landscapes and natural habitats", images that focus on humanized landscapes or predominate elements with anthropogenic origin will not be accepted.
This competition accepts:
• Photographs / pictures in digital format with the following requirements: Jpeg image formati. Minimum size of 3000 pixels in the largest measurement
• Photographs that do not contain author’s signature, watermarks, frames or identification in metadata
• Photographs submitted with in the deadline defined for the Competition
• Photographs of any geographical origin
• Photographs included in the categories of the Competition described in the article 5 of this regulation
Photographs that deal with domesticated species will not be accepted.
Photographs of animals that are subject to captivity for the preparation of photographic works shall also not be admitted.
Photographs that have been submitted in other editions and Photography Competitions organized by the Entities referred to in this regulation are not allowed.
Each Participant may submit a maximum of 2 photographs for each of the categories provided in the Competition.
However, each Participant may only be awarded by 1 work per category.
The Organizing Committee will inform by e-mail the Participants that they are selected to join the Biodiversity Photography Exhibition until October 19, 2018.
The public announcement of the winners of the Competition will take place at the Final Gala of the International Festival of Nature Image (FIIN), on November 18, 2018.
There is no entry fee for this competition.
