The Fumetto Comic Festival Lucerne is an comic contest recently opened for entries in its 2019 edition, that every year gives comic creators the opportunity to compare their work, present it to a broader public and to exchange views with others.

About Competition

Each year, Fumetto Comic Festival Lucerne holds this comic contest to give comic creators the opportunity to compare their work, present it to a broader public and to exchange views with others.

The theme of this year’s competition is "Bike".

Bike - We love our bike, cycle or two-wheeler. No matter what you call it, biking is the best way to get around: fast and flexible! We enjoy whizzing away feeling the wind in our faces - full of energy but emission-free. How do you think about that? Are you located in a bike paradise or fighting your way through the urban jungle, headed to Kilimanjaro or just to the next bakery - draw us your bike story!

There are three categories:

• 18 years or older
• 13 to 17 years
• up to 12 years of age

Submission requirements:

• Application: Register under the application form, wait for an e-mail which provides your user number, print e-mail and enclose it in you application.
• Format: A4 or A3 (other formats enclose application will be disqualified)
• Form: Only comics (stories in picture form), no entries via e-mail, only by post-service.
• Number of pages: you can send maximum 4 pages (only 1 comic story).
• Labeling: Name, address, telephone number, e-mail, user number, date of birth and paging on the back of each page.
• Packaging: sturdy envelope, no rolls.
• Return postage: For Swiss residents only: stamps or money in the value of the stamps needed. Foreigners: 15 Euro. If the return postage is not enclosed or not sufficient the works will not be sent back but kept for one year.

Confirmation of participation will be sent by the end of January 2018. The works will be returned by the end of August 2018.

The Jury comprises artists, comic specialists (college instructors and publishers), journalists, and prominent art personalities.

The 14 to 15 comics will be nominated by the jury and shown in the exhibition during the festival, those not nominated will be shown in folders.

There is no entry fees to participate in this contest!
