Global Media Competition 2021

Global Media Competition 2021 now is over!
The 2021 Global Media Competition organised by the Global Center for Good Governance in Tobacco Control (GGTC), a partner of STOP, a global tobacco industry watchdog, seeks compelling visual designs that portray tobacco industry’s tactic of using deception to undermine health policies and escape liability.
About Competition
To raise awareness about tobacco industry interference, GGTC is holding its second online 2021 Global Media Competition. This year’s competition title is “LIES & COVER-UPS: TIME TO MAKE TOBACCO PAY.” The competition seeks compelling visual designs that portray the tobacco industry’s tactic of using deception to undermine health policies and escape liability.
For its second year, the Global Media Competition (GMC) will welcome entries in the form of posters, short videos, and infographics that convey how the tobacco industry conceals, covers up, and misrepresents the enormous burdens it has placed on people, the environment, health systems, and the global economy.
Tobacco kills 8,000,000 people each year, costing the world’s economy US$1.4 trillion annually. Through its lies and deception, the tobacco industry has perpetuated a pandemic by undermining government efforts to protect public health. To date, it has yet to pay for the harms it has caused.
All entries written in English will be accepted. Entries in other languages will also be accepted but an English translation will be required.
Each entry must be the participant’s original work.
