Illustraciència, International Award on Scientific Illustration 2016 now is over!
The Catalan Association of Science Communication organizes the 4th edition of the illustration competition ’Illustraciència, International Award on Scientific Illustration’ with aims to disseminate the importance of science illustration and pushes it in all its forms, supporting science illustrators and rewarding them through the convening of the International Award on Scientific Illustration.
About Competition
There are two categories:
• Traditional
• Digital
Each participant is able to submit only a single work. The day January 11th will activate the web form.
In case of taking part as a team all members shall indicate their names.
The work must have been created between January 2015 and March 15th, 2016.
The subject of the illustrations must be related to science or nature and the technique is free.
The proposals must not include watermarks or text.
The proposals shall enclose a description of it of about 150-200 words in Spanish, Catalan or English. The participant must fill in the registration form of the website
From among all received proposals, the jury will select for their scientific accuracy, clarity, originality and information capacity the 40 works that will take part in the exhibition of the fourth edition of Il·lustraciència. The jury will select a maximum of 50 illustrations, among which the jury will select unanimously or by a majority of votes the winning proposal, the winners of the training awards and up to five special awards to the most outstanding works. The Audience Award will be made through popular vote on the official website of the award.
There is no entry fee for this illustration competition.
Eligibility
All work teams or individuals aged over 18 years old may participate in this illustration competition regardless of the country of residence. The winner of the previous edition, the organizing committee and the members of the jury are excluded from this call.
