16th International Poster Biennial in Mexico (16BICM) now is over!
The International Poster Biennial in Mexico, poster competition and one of the three oldest in the world, and the precursor of its type in America, recently has been announced for entries inviting all worldwide to participate.
About Competition
The 16th International Poster Biennial in Mexico (16BICM), poster competition now is calling for entries! This biennial is one of the three oldest in the world, and the precursor of its type in America.
There are six categories:
• CATEGORY A - PUBLISHED POSTER BETWEEN THE YEARS 2018-2020 - You can submit posters on any subject. The posters must have been printed between 2018 and 2020.
• CATEGORY B - PUBLISHED POSTER BETWEEN THE YEARS 2018-2020 ABOUT FILM - You can submit posters on the subject: film (festivals, tributes, movies, etc.) The posters must have been printed between 2018 and 2020. Participants shall submit published posters on the subject: “Film posters”.
• UNPUBLISHED POSTERS / BIODIVERSITY - Participants shall submit unpublished posters on the subject: “Posters for biodiversity”. The chosen posters will be part of the collection on the subject Biodiversity.
• UNPUBLISHED POSTER / NO VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN - Participants shall submit unpublished posters on the subject: “No violence against women”. The chosen posters will be part of the collection on the subject No violence against women.
• UNPUBLISHED POSTER / MEXICO CORRUPTION FREE - this category is open only to Young Mexicans, or foreigners residing in the country or Mexicans residing in another country. Participants shall submit unpublished posters on the subject: “Mexico Corruption-free”.
• UNPUBLISHED POSTER / MORE COMPETITION FOR A BETTER CHOICE - this category is open only to Young Mexicans. Participants shall submit unpublished posters on the subject: “More competition for a better choice”.
Submission requirements:
Categories A and B - you must make the printed submission of your work in original format before May 15, 2020. Categories C, D, E and F - only digital posters will be acepted in this categories.
Participants should submit a maximum of 6 posters as a total per the whole call.
Representation, layout and printing technique are freestyle.
Files registered in the contest should be formatted as: LOW RESOLUTION, 1,000 px in its longest side, no matter the position of the piece (horizontal or vertical), 72 DPI, RGB, JPG and HIGH RESOLUTION, 100 cm required in its longest side, no matter the position of the piece (horizontal or vertical), 300 DPI, CMYK, PDF.
The results of the 16BICM selection will be published on the website and social networks on July 7, 2020.
All submitted posters will be part of the International Poster Biennial in Mexico safeguarded by the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosi’s.
Entry fees:
Entry fee cost 100 MXN.
Eligibility
Category A,B,D,C are open to all graphic designers, design students, visual artists, photographers and graphic creators in general are allowed to participate, no matter age or nationality. Category E,F are open to all Young Mexicans, or foreigners residing in the country or Mexicans residing in another country. The age restriction will be from 18 to 30 years old. Collectives, work groups, design bureaus or relates can participate.
