About Competition
The International Pro Carton Young Designers Award is a design competition for new ideas in the field of carton and carton board applications. The aim of this competition is to find unrealised design solutions and conceptual designs and ideas by students made of cartonboard which have so far not been realised, to present them to the widest possible audience, and, if possible, to put them into practice.
The first Pro Carton Design Award took place in 2002 starting in Spain and Belgium. Other national design awards soon followed in another ten European countries. 2004 saw the first European competition. Pro Carton is now going completely pan-European, allowing young designers from all over Europe – East and West – to participate directly in the International Pro Carton Design Awards.
You can enter your realization in a two categories:
- Creative Cartonboard Packaging
- Creative Cartonboard Ideas
All entries – designs, sketches and/ or models, dummies etc. must be true to scale, regardless of their actual size and application, and must be made exclusively of cartonboard (over 200 g/m2) using folding techniques, or possibly glue. Two- and/ or three-dimensional designs are allowed.
A maximum of ten entries is permitted per institution. All entries must be submitted (maximum size A3) ideally as a finished version for printing. Three-dimensional samples, models, dummies etc. must be accompanied by a sketch or description of no more than a single A4 page. A description is always welcome.
