IPEX 2017 Advertisement Design Challenge now is over!
Delivering on its “print in action” vision, IPEX, an international print and graphics arts exhibition recently has announced new advertising competition aimed at apprentice graphic arts designers and students to create part of its 2017 advertising campaign.
About Competition
The print and graphic arts industries, IPEX has been recently organised new advertising competition aimed at apprentice graphic arts designers and students to create part of its 2017 advertising campaign.
This competition crying out for fresh new talent and with an abundance of opportunities IPEX 2017 will be showcasing the excellent career paths that this vibrant and engaging sector has to offer.
The challenge gives students and apprentices the chance to test their creativity and design skills by creating an advertisement that will be featured in both UK and international trade press.
Not only will all shortlisted advertisements be published in leading industry magazines, they will also be showcased at IPEX 2017.
IPEX also has a mission to help the print industry attract talent and promote the graphic arts sector as a great career opportunity.
With that in mind, this challenge invites print and graphic arts apprentices; students of any discipline; and designers aged under 25 years, to design an advertisement to promote visitor attendance to IPEX which is on 31 October – 3 November 2017.
IPEX’s core theme is‘print in action’ so the advertisement must capture this.
It must also contain certain key information and be in A4 size, but design isn’t restricted in any other way so get creative and make it as colourful, engaging, playful, and eye-catching as possible.
Please provide a zip file containing:
1. High resolution Acrobat PDF (300 dpi) in CMYK colour mode (all fonts must be converted to paths).
2. Images @ 300dpi @ 100% final image, supply as JPEG or TIFF.
3. Open ARTWORK: Adobe InDesign / Adobe Illustrator files including fonts, images etc.
Participants must also submit a short description, of no more than 150 words, explaining the inspiration for their design.
This is a unique opportunity for the winning entries benefiting not only from the prizes on offer but also having their advert published in a number of leading industry titles. The top entries will also be displayed at IPEX within the “Print in Action” zone.
The winning designs will be run in the trade press over a five-month period.
Entries will be judged by a panel comprising a publisher, marketing experts, graphics designers and chaired by IPEX Event Director, Rob Fisher.
There is no entry fee for this competition!

Apprentices and students, and designers working in the wider community aged under 25.
