Istanbul Photo Awards 2020 now is over!
Istanbul Photo Awards 2020, an international news photography competition for professionals organized by Anadolu Agency is now open for entries waiting for all professional photographers worldwide.
About Competition
Organised by Anadolu Agency, Istanbul Photo Awards, one of the ten most influential global news agencies in the world, recently has been started to accept applications for 2020.
Istanbul Photo Awards aims to contribute to the sphere of news photography and offers a perspective shaped by the region’s unique position at the center of diverse cultures. The awards reward endeavors of courageous and talented photojournalists from around the world on merit. Although it is only the fifth edition of the contest, Istanbul Photo Awards has become one of the most widely known news photography contests in the world.
Photographers across the world are expected to submit pictures capturing global events from throughout the year.
Categories are:
• Photo of the Year
• Single News - only 1 image can be submitted per application. Photographers may apply 4 different images.
• Story News - 10 images must be submitted per application. Photographers may apply 2 different stories.
• Single Sports - only 1 image can be submitted per application. Photographers may apply 4 different images.
• Story Sports - 10 images must be submitted per application. Photographers may apply 2 different stories.
Submission requirements:
Photos needs to be in high-resolution JPEG or PNG format. There are no rules on their size.
Photographers may submit both published and unpublished photos.
Photographers may submit with both black-and-white and color photographs. Photographers can crop and make minor level editing on the photographs. Basic color corrections are allowed but digital manipulation and Photoshop-type effects are prohibited.
Every single photograph needs to have a title, not more than 75 typespaces and a description up to 400 typespaces. All photos in the story submission should have a description maximum 200 typespaces and photographers should write general story info up to 600 typespaces. The country and the date of the photo was taken will be added separately. Photography captions must be written in English.
Every year online applications are accepted between Nov. 1 - Jan. 31 via http://istanbulphotoawards.com.
A number of exhibits will be held inside and outside Turkey to spotlight the work of the award-winning photographers. The winning pictures will also be presented in a special photo album.
