Joseph Binder Award 2020 now is over!
Joseph Binder Award 2020, graphic design competition organised by designaustria is now open for entry inviting all designers and illustrators around the world, including students, to participate with their best works.
About Competition
The Joseph Binder Award is an international competition held every two years, with a focus on graphic design and illustration was launched for the first time in 1996 by designaustria, the interest organization and knowledge centre for design in Austria. Participation is open to graphic designers, illustrators, advertising agencies and to design students from all over the world.
This competition is named after one of the most outstanding graphic designers and illustrators active in Austria between the two World Wars, who subsequently also revolutionized visual communication in the United States.
Graphic designers, illustrators, advertising agencies and students from all over the world are invited to enter their works realized in 2018 and after by 29 February (early bird) or 17 April 2020.

3) Design Fiction (Spacial Categoy) - Unpublished works, independent/non-commercial projects, unrealised concepts, student projects, etc. in all disciplines
Works to be entered in several categories must be registered separately for each category.
Submission requirements:
You need to send a short description with max. 1,000 characters, high resolution images (300 dpi, jpeg/tif) and/or videos (flv/mov/gif) - altogether max. 15 files, no specification of size.
Participation is open to both individuals and teams. The number of entries is not limited.
Participants whose submission(s) has/have been nominated by the jury for the second round will be notified in early June 2020 and will receive further information and formal leads on the physical entry(ies).
The winners will be publicly disclosed on 12 November 2020 within the framework of a festive presentation of the selected and prize-winning entries, to be held in Vienna’s MuseumsQuartier. On the occasion of the award ceremony, a catalogue will appear containing all of the selected and prize-winning entries and introducing the members of the jury. Furthermore, the awarded projects will be presented for a period of several weeks in an exhibition at designforum Wien and afterwards as touring exhibition in several European cities.
Entry fees:
If you submit before Early bird deadline (29 February 2020) you benefit from 10% discount on entry fee), instead a regular deadline (17 April 2020) starts from 80 euros and is redused for the members. There is also special discount for a students
