About Competition
The 2020 La Guarimba International Film Festival, short film competition is calling for short film entries on any theme by filmmakers from all parts of the world.
Categories are:
● Fiction
● Animation
● Documentary
● Experimental films
● Music Videos
● Children’s Animation
Submission requirements:
● Short films of any nationality and language can participate.
● All themes are allowed.
● The maximum length will be 30 minutes (including credits).
● Only those films produced after January 1st of 2018 will be accepted.
● All formats will be accepted.
● There are no limits to the number of entries a filmmaker may enter, but these have to be submitted separately.
The jury will include professionals from the cinema world, television, media, and teaching.
The selection for 2020 will include around 70 films that will be selected to be screened at the festival and will be part of the competition. In addition, the organizers in partnership with UNICEF Italia will create La Grotta dei Piccoli Children’s Animation program with more than 80 films selected in a competition program for children.
The 8th edition of La Guarimba International Film Festival will be held from 7th to 12th August 2020 in Amantea (Calabria), southern Italy. The prizes will be given away at La Guarimba International Film Festival’s closure.
The submission fee starts at 7,5 Euro and very dipened of the category you choose.
