The 13th Montreal International Black Film Festival (MIBFF) is proud to launch the 4th edition of its international poster competition inviting all graphic designer, artist, illustrator, poster designer or photographer who loves film and diversity to partecipate.
About Competition
The Montreal International Black Film Festival (MIBFF) is organizing a poster competition for its poster campaign in celebration of its 13th edition in September, 2017.
If you are a graphic designer, artist, illustrator, poster designer or photographer who loves film and diversity or if you are creative, open-minded or imaginative, you can submit your proposal for the 13th edition of the Montreal Black Film Festival.
From the Caribbean to the Indian Ocean, Africa to North America, via Europe and South America, MIBFF wants to share its most striking black cinematic discoveries while engaging in a wider cultural, social and socio-economic debate. MIBFF has become today’s largest black film festival in Canada.
It is a dynamic, bold and innovative festival that fosters the development of the independent film industry and which offers a new and refreshing look on a growing, rich and original film industry.
Format required for pre-selection is low resolution JPG (2-3 MB). Each participant can submit up to three proposals. The proposal must be accompanied by a brief description explaining the artistic choice and symbolism of graphics used.
The text and poster must be vector-based and editable. File types: ai, eps , psd and indd.
Writing and images must be copyright free.
Each poster will be examined according to the following criteria:
- the representation of the values of the Montreal International Black Film Festival – MIBFF,
- visual quality (graphic design, colour, font),
- the ability to modify it according to the medium used for its presentation,
- the originality of its design,
- readability,
- simplicity.
The contest is open from January 6th to March 31, 2016. Proposals must be received by the MIBFF by March 31, 2017.
There is no entry fee for this competition.
Eligibility
The contest is open to everyone, both professionals and amateurs. Participants under the age of 18 must have parental consent to participate in the contest.
