Movin’On Challenge Design 2021 now is over!
Created by Michelin in 2001 to encourage and recognize creative design around the world, Movin’On Challenge Design 2021 is a prestigious global competition reflecting the importance of innovative design in the future of mobility.
About Competition
The Movin’On Sustainable Mobility Fund has announced the 2021 edition of its annual Movin’On Challenge Design Competition, created to celebrate, promote, publicize and give visibility to original creative thinking and innovation in mobility design.
Created by Michelin in 2001 to encourage and recognize creative design around the world, Movin’On Challenge Design is one of the most prestigious global design competitions, reflecting the importance of innovative design in the future of mobility.
The 2021 theme is: ’Respect’, ending Isolation and Conquering the Mobility Divide.
The 2021 Movin’On challenge to entrants is to design a future with truly inclusive access to mobility, a future that breaks down barriers and increases the personal well-being and respect for all people.
Your design story should visually communicate how your entry addresses the theme of RESPECT and ending isolation and the mobility divide for those facing age and disability related barriers to sustainable mobility.
Challenge Design jurors encourage entrants to have their entry tell a design story.
➜ Who are the people, or groups of people that your design will help?
➜ What are the barriers that they encounter trying to access mobility?
➜ What need or problem does your design address?
➜ What is your vision?
➜ How, through your design and innovative thinking, have you respected their needs and broken down a barrier or barriers?
Some things to consider:
➜ Age can impact the ability of both young and old people to access affordable and sustainable mobility.
➜ Disability can take many forms, both visible and invisible to the outside world.
➜ The combination of physical or emotional disability and lack of access to mobility often results in isolation, leading to further withdrawal from society.
The entry portal for submissions will open November 1, 2020 and close on March 1, 2021.
The 3 winners will be honored at a private reception during the Movin’On Summit, 1-3 June, 2021, in Montreal, where the winning entries will be displayed, and design portfolios reviewed by Challenge Design jurors and top designers.
