Nexon Computer Museum (NCM) this year is accepting submissions for its 2019 Open Call, themed “X Reality“, to supports experimental and creative VR, AR and MR art projects.
‘X Reality’ is a new term that penetrates through all kinds of virtualization that not only includes VR (Virtual Reality), AR (Augmented Reality), and MR (Mixed Reality) but also encompasses XR (eXtened Reality, that broadens the perspectives of reality), CR (Cross Reality, that overlaps real and virtual world) and even unknown X, the undetermined and unpredictable. would like to embrace various kinds of innovative and challenging interpretations of virtualization.
In 2016, when VR technology was still not so familiar, Nexon Computer Museum started NCM Open Call with its first slogan “VR, why just sit-watching?.” 2nd NCM Open Call was held in 2017 under the theme of “Beyond Reality, Around Reality, Through Reality,” broadening itself to Augmented Reality (AR) and Mixed Reality (MR) entries.
Guidelines:
As has been for the past three years, any contents that gives artistic and innovative interpretation on XR is qualified to be submitted regardless of the applicant’s nationality, age, gender, or field experiences. There is no limitation in platform, genre and theme. If you have a demonstration video and a playable build file that can identify the core intent of your work, you can submit the project even if it is still in its development phase.
Submission Requirements:
• Application documents including applicant(individual/group) introduction, project proposal, development period and future plan
• Demo video file
• Playable build file (Not necessary for video contents without interaction)
The winners will be announced on 25th October 2019.
