Nikon Corporation is pleased to announce the new edition of Nikon Photo Contest 2020-2021, one of the world’s largest international photography competition to provide an opportunity for photographers around the world to communicate and to enrich image-making culture for professionals and amateurs alike.
About Competition
Nikon Photo Contest 2020-2021, organised by Nikon Corporation is now open for entries in its 37th edition. This is one of the world’s largest international photography competition dedicate to provide an opportunity for photographers around the world to communicate and to enrich image-making culture for professionals and amateurs alike.
The Nikon Photo Contest nurtures an aspirational community that supports photographers and filmmakers who wish to share important stories and influence the way people think through images.
NOTE! Please note that every category has different deadline period.
Categories
➜ Photo Competition - Open category, Next Generation Category
➜ Short Film Competition - Open category, Next Generation Category
The theme for the Open category in both competitions is 'Connect'. The theme for the Next Generation category, open to artists aged 25 years old and younger, is 'Passion'.
Submission requirements
➜ Photo Competition: single images or photo stories (2-5 images per story). The image size must be within 20 MB and need to be saved as JPEG/150 dpi, sRGB color space is standard.
➜ Short Film Competition: videos should be between 3-5 minutes in lenght. If any language is used within the video, English subtitles must be included. The file size must be within 600 MB, format must be MOV or MP4, with a video compression method of H.264 MPEG-4VC.
➜ Any equipment can be used.
➜ You may submit color or black and white photos.
➜ Entry is limited to original works that have not formerly been displayed or exhibited.
After all entries have been received, they will undergo the first round of judging, and all successful entries will be posted on this website (scheduled for May 2021). Winners of each award will then be decided after the final round of judging (June 2021). Contest results are scheduled to be announced on this website by July 2021.
Eligibility
Open to all, professional and amateur, regardless of age, sex or nationality.
Prize
The Grand prize is 500,000 YEN (approx. 4,745 USD) in cash. Excellence Awards, Special Encouragement Award, Nikon's Selection Award will be awarded as well.
Entry fees
There is no entry fee to participate!
