One City One Pride Arts Festival Design Competition 2018

One City One Pride Arts Festival Design Competition 2018 now is over!
The City of West Hollywood has opened the call for entries for its 2018 poster competition inviting any and all artists to create a poster proposal that celebrates this year theme ’Remembrance’.
About Competition
Each year the City of West Hollywood produces a program of LGBTQ-related arts, educational and cultural events between Harvey Milk Day (May 22) through the end of June Pride Month (June 30), providing 40 days of celebrating pride through meaningful arts, education, and cultural programming. The festival comprises film screenings, exhibitions, theatre, dance, music, installation art, literary events, and more.
This year the City of West Hollywood’s One City One Pride Arts Festival takes a moment to remember those who have passed and those whose lives helped advance the cause of LGBTQ civil rights. Submissions should incorporate this theme as a major part of their design.
This year’s festival is themed "Remembrance".
Most prominently your design will be used as the cover of a booklet measuring 4.25" x 7" (can be portrait or landscape orientation) of which several thousand copies will be printed and distributed widely. Your design will also be adapted for street banners (measuring 35" W by 72" H) which will be seen by thousands as they drive through West Hollywood.
Submissions should either 4.25" W x 7" H or 7" W x 4.25 " H. Ideal submissions will have a neutral background of a single colour that is either dark or light so that readable text can be placed over it and be designed with a 1-inch bleed. Posters are to be submitted both as a low-res jpg and as a hi-res PSD or PDF file of at least 600 PPI.
