Painting On The Edge 2017 now is over!
International painting competition and exhibition titled Painting on the Edge, like every year in its 15th edition invites to take a part all artists worldwide working in the all two dimensional drawing and paint-based mediums to challenge themselves and and their audiences.
About Competition
Organised by Federation of Canadian Artists (FCA), now in its 15th year, Painting on the Edge is an international painting competition and one open call dedicated to artists working in all two dimensional drawing and paint-based mediums.
Every year this exhibition encourages artists to challenge themselves in their current practice and get out of their artistic confort zone.
Challenge yourself in your art practice and challenge the viewer through unconventional technique and/or subject matter.
The theme of this year is "Challenge".
Artworks cannot be larger than 4ft. wide and 8ft tall. Horizontal and vertical orientation are permitted.
All styles and all subject metter are welcome.
Entries are welcome from all artists working in all traditional art media (e.g. Oil, watercolor, acrylic, pastel mixed media, gouache, egg tempera, pen and ink; drawing media such as graphite, charcoal, colored pencils, scratch board, markers, metal point, and two-dimensional collage).
Digital art, photography or three-dimensional art such as installation art or sculpture are not accepted.
Successful entries will combine an original subject or concept, feature excellent composition and skillful use of the chosen medium. They will capture the jury’s interest and excite or move the viewer because they represent the artist’s imagination, involvement and sincerity.
The opening reception and awards ceremony will be held on August on Granville Island (Vancouver).
Entry fees of this competition is 25 CAD, that’s approximately 18 USD per image for FCA members, 30 CAD that’s approximately 25 USD per image for non-members.
