PDN The Curator:Fine Art Photography Contest 2016 now is over!
The Photo District News (PDN), the award-winning monthly magazine for the professional photographer has launched the call for entries for the annual photography competition seeking emerging fine-art photographers for The Curator, to culminate in a group show at Foley Gallery in New York City.
About Competition
Photo District News (PDN) in an award-winning monthly magazine for professional photographers and has been covering the photographic industry for more than 30 years.
This photography competition is open for entries in six categories, including: Portraits, Still Lifes, Abstract/Mixed Media, Landscapes, Urban Scenes, and Student Work.
Entries will be judged on the basis of creativity, photographic quality and effectiveness in expressing the contest theme.
An entry can consists of one image or one photo series but you may enter as many entries as you like. A photo series includes two to six images that convey a story around a particular theme. A series must be cohesive, if it is not from the same photographic series or project, a visual relation that ties the imagery together is key.
Digital images should have a long dimension of at least 2,000 pixels and be saved at 300 dpi (Around 7" or larger) jpeg. It’s recommend the uncompressed file size not be larger than 4 megabytes to ensure a fast upload experience.
Winners will be contacted in July 2016 and the winning entries will be published in PDN’s August 2016 Issue.
The entry fee for this competition is $45 (US) for either single or series work of up to six visually related images.
Entries received after 3 May 2016 and no later than 17 May 2016, at 11:59 pm PST, require an additional late fee of $10 per entry.
Eligibility
Entrants must be at least 18 years of age as of the date of entry.
