The Prix Elysée, an international photography prize and competition that supports photographic production and encourages mid-career photographers or artists to forge a new project, on a theme of their choice, has been recently opened for entries for 2018-2020.
About Competition
The Prix Elysée is an international photography prize and competition organised by the Musée de l’Elysée with the support of Parmigiani Fleurier, supports photographic production and encourages mid-career photographers or artists to forge a new project, on a theme of their choice.
The Prix Elysée was founded in 2014 and aims to enable promising photographers – eight nominees and one winner – to take a decisive step forward in their career. The prize runs every two years and the third edition will take place from 2018 - 2020.
The Musée de l’Elysée is one of the world’s leading museums entirely dedicated to photography. Since its establishment in 1985, the museum has worked to improve public understanding of the photographic medium through innovative exhibitions, key publications and engaging events.
Photographers should send to the Musée de l’Elysée a portfolio (an unpublished photographic project) consisting of 10 - 20 photographic prints. There is no overall theme or preference for any particular photographic genre or technique.
All applications must be written in English or French.
Proposed projects must never have been previously exhibited or published, and must not have been submitted to any other prize.
All photographic work will be taken into consideration. No preference will be given to particular genres or techniques.
The call for applications will take place from 1 January to 4 March 2018.
There is no entry fee for this competition.
Eligibility
The Prix Elysée is open to photographers or artists using photography, regardless of nationality, who have already enjoyed their first exhibitions and publications. Photographers must be recommended by a reputed professional in the fields of photography, contemporary art, cinema, fashion, journalism or publishing.
