QUARELLI ART PRIZE has been established for the first time with the aim of nourishing and expanding the Parco d’Arte with new sculpture competition for 2016 Quarelli Art Prize and invites all artists younger than 45 to participate offering them the chance to be selected and to have their work featured inside the collective themed exhibition called TRANSITORY PEOPLE.
About Competition
The sculpture competition notice for the QUARELLI ART PRIZE will offer to artists the chance to be selected and to have their work featured inside the collective themed exhibition called TRANSITORY PEOPLE.
The exhibition will take place in the park of Roccaverano (AT), starting from Saturday the 11th June until September 2016.
The works submited will have to be open-air sculptures or installations of medium/big dimensions and harmonize with the theme of this competition and must portray the human being, who may be stylized or detailed.
The materials will also have to have precise characteristics in terms of durability and resistance. Specifically, the works should be particularly resistant to atmospheric agents, water and
wind.
Any recycled objects or materials employed in the work may be visible or hidden inside
the sculpture/installation, or simply treated with paint and varnish.
We advise against using a scale of less than 1:1, unless you have planned on taking the
necessary security measures to avoid the removal of your work by third parties.
You are allowed to present a work composed of a single element or of more elements,
as well as a work representing a single individual or a group.
The artists who have not yet completed their work and who live quite far from the exhibit place will have the chance of enjoying an ARTIST RESIDENCY (RESIDENZA D’ARTISTA) at the Quarelli B&B in May, where they will be able to prepare their work.
This accommodation will be enjoyed by two of the artists who will submit a membership application to the ARTIST RESIDENCY project in the specific box of the participation form.
Submitted works may be individual or group and composed of a single element or of more elements.
At the end of the exhibit the winning work of the competition will be selected and announced.
