RHS Photographic Competition 2022 now is over!
RHS Photographic Competition 2022, organised by Royal Horticultural Society, UK charity established to share the best in gardening, has been recently opened for entries, inspiring young and old alike to get outdoors and record how enriching and inspiring gardens and plants can be.
About Competition
The RHS Photographic Competition 2022, annual competition owned and run by the UK charity Royal Horticultural Society now is calling for entries and is dedicate to garden lovers, horticulturists and photographers alike.
The aim of RHS Photographic Competition is to promote high quality and beautiful photography and to inspire everyone to grow by encouraging people to share their two passions of gardening and photography.
Entrants are permitted to enter 5 images to the competition. The Social Media category is limited to five entries per month. Entries for Category 10 (Portfolio) require a minimum of 6 images in a series.
Categories
There are ten different categories in the competition, designed to have a broad appeal to aspiring entrants and cover different gardening-related topics:
1. Gardens
2. Welcoming wildlife
3. Plants
4. Creative
5. Macro
6. Indoor gardening
7. Under 18s (age 11-17)
8. Under 11s
9. Social Media
10. Portfolio
Submission requirements
➜ Images can be taken on any photographic device or through any photographic process as long as they are submitted digitally.
➜ Digital adjustments that maintain the integrity of the image are allowed but is not permitted to make any major physical change to the image, apart from in the Abstract or Portfolio categories, where there are no restrictions.
➜ Image entry file size must not exceed 4MB, and is recommended to be at least 1200 pixels on the longest length.
➜ A high-resolution image with a minimum of 6MB, preferably over 10MB, will be requested if entries are shortlisted.
➜ Black and white images are eligible for all categories.
The winners will be announced and exhibited at an RHS Show in 2022.
Eligibility
This competition is open worldwide to both amateur and professional photographers.
Prize
The overall winner will receive 5,000 GBP. The Young Winner will receive 750 GBP Wex Photographic vouchers. Winners will be announced and exhibited during a summer RHS Flower Show, the exhibition will then tour the RHS Gardens at dates to be confirmed.
