Khaled bin Sultan Living Oceans Foundation has announced 2020 edition of its Science Without Borders Challenge, to once again inspire student creativity while learning about important ocean conservation issues.
About Competition
The Khaled bin Sultan Living Oceans Foundation is proud to announce the 8th annual Science Without Borders Challenge This competition engages students to promote the need to preserve, protect, and restore the world’s oceans and aquatic resources.
This annual contest inspires students to be creative while learning about important ocean conservation issues. It was created to get students and teachers interested in ocean conservation through various forms of art.
The theme for 2020 edition is: ’Take Action: Conserve Coral Reefs’.
Throughout the world, coral reefs are rapidly declining and threatened by a variety of factors—both natural and man-made. If nothing is done to save them, many coral reefs will no longer exist as functioning ecosystems by the end of the century. For this year’s contest, the Khaled bin Sultan Living Oceans Foundation is asking students to use their artistic talents to create a piece of art that illustrates one or more of the different actions that can be taken to preserve coral reefs. Submission requirements:
• All artwork must be an original work by the contestant and shall not infringe on any copyrights or any other rights of any third parties. For instance, drawing a character from a cartoon or movie is not considered an original work.
• The artwork must be 2D such as a painting or drawing. Acceptable media include: paint, pencil, marker, crayon, ink, felt, and oil pastel.

• You must send your original artwork. Digital copies of artwork are NOT permitted.
