Taipei International Design Award (TIDA) 2017 now is over!
The Department of Economic Development (DOED) of the Taipei City Government recently has opened the 2017 Taipei International Design Award (TIDA) inviting all designers from all over the world to join in and vie for the highest honor.
About Competition
In order to constantly convey a city brand image of “Design Taipei, Dream Taipei” to people who are passionate about creativeness and design around the globe, Taipei City Government organizes design award with the sense of “Design for Adaptive City”.
This year Taipei City Government extends its invitation to designers from all over the world to join in and vie for the highest honor.
Organiser has devoted to build a city with vision of design through these years. Designers are encouraged to reflect on the meaning of design itself, and think of the design as a tool to solve problems. Through Design Thinking, designers may address those issues which a community or city might face to. Through Social Design, Designers may raise their influences to make a better world. Through above two attributes, designer may reveal the spirit of “Design for Adaptive City” on the platform of Taipei International Design Award.
Entries can be submitted in 3 main categories:
• Industrial Design - refers to design works that can be mass produced, including general and digital application, transportation tools, equipment and instruments, daily utilities and household goods, IT and home appliances,etc.
• Visual Communication Design - includes designs of digital graphic creations
,identity, posters, packaging and printing (including digital printing) etc.
• Public Space Design - provided for public use, government buildings and certain private establishments.
Entries must be original creations of the contestants completed after June 30, 2015.
Everyone around the world are welcomed to participate individually or as a group (each group is limited to five members).
The city government openly selects outstanding design works among international entries and severs this competition as a creative design exchange platform to discover design works with business potential, to encourage practices of social design, and to embrace the avocation of making a better and more convenient life.
There is no entry fee for this competition!
Eligibility
Creative designers, teachers and students of design schools, and people with design passion from around the globe are invited to participate.
