16the annual Shriekfest Horror Film Festival 2016 now is over!
Shriekfest continues its tradition with 16th annual Horror Film Festival that’s now open for entries for its 2016 horror event and film competition, scheduled for 2nd–4th October at the legendary Raleigh Studios in California.
About Competition
Shriekfest is an international film festival and screenwriting contest celebrating the work of independent artists in the horror, thriller, sci-fi, and fantasy film genres.
Shriekfest continues its tradition as Los Angeles’ Premier horror film event, presenting an exciting program of films each fall, with beautiful Los Angeles as its backdrop.
Entries are accepted in five categories: narrative feature, narrative short, narrative super short, feature screenplay, and short screenplay; and prizes will be awarded to the winning filmmaker in each category.
Got an imaginative spirit and hankering for horror films? Then we want YOU to help promote Shriekfest, the longest-running horror, sci-fi, and fantasy film and screenwriting competition in Los Angeles! The festival is now in its fifteenth year and we’re looking for fans to create a commercial that will be used on our website and on our Facebook and Twitter pages to help get people excited. And the best part?
The only requirements are for the commercial to be under one minute, be horror/sci-fi/fantasy related, and mention that Shriekfest is in its fifteenth year.
Last year’s festival was a great success and had its biggest audience yet, with a 20% increase from 2014 and more than 35 filmmakers in attendance.
Shriekfest Horror Film Festival 2016 entry fees starts at $15 (US) for Demo Reels and vary depending on the date of submission and the entry type.
Eligibility
Both established and emerging filmmakers are invited to submit original films and screenplays to gain media exposure, connect with the region’s diverse audiences, and participate in an acclaimed event attended by industry professionals as well as horror and sci-fi fans.
