The Columbia Threadneedle Prize art competition has a new name and a new date. This call for entries invites all artist to submit with paintings, drawings, original prints, sculpture, mixed media constructions, small scale installations and reliefs.
All artists are encouraged to submit fresh and intriguing figurative or representational works that are strong and topical interpretations of the world around us.
About Competition
The Columbia Threadneedle Prize, the UK’s leading open art competition for figurative and representational painting and sculpture, returns for its eighth year at Mall Galleries in early 2016.
This call for entries invites all artist to submit with paintings, drawings, original prints, sculpture, mixed media constructions, small scale installations and reliefs.
Mall Galleries is a major contemporary gallery space in the heart of Central London, and is a national focal point for contemporary figurative art.
For over 40 years Mall Galleries has played a crucial role in diversifying the practice of figurative art, exploring its boundaries while inspiring and educating audiences with new exhibitions and interpretations of the contemporary world.
You may enter a maximum of six works that cannot be larger than 2.4 metres along the longest dimension. All works must be for sale.
In an unprecedented European exchange, the exhibition will also travel to the Fondazione Palazzo Strozzi in Florence, presenting a reflection on the breadth of contemporary figurative and representational painting and sculpture across Europe.
With exhibitions in two major centres of art since the Renaissance, the Prize seeks to explore the continued relevance of Figurative Art Today.
The Columbia Threadneedle Prize is one of the most valuable art prizes in the United Kingdom.
Entries can be submitted digitally up until 12 noon on 16 October.
Entry fee for this art competition is 15 GBP (approx. 23 USD) per work.
Eligibility
Submissions for the art competition, which may include paintings, sculptures, drawings, prints and installations, are now invited from artists living and working in the UK and across Europe.
