The Syngenta Photography Award 2016 now is over!
The Syngenta Photography Award is an international photography competition that seeks to stimulate dialogue around key global challenges through powerful photography inviting all photographers whether amateur, professional, or student to visually explore the theme ’Grow-Conserve’ submiting images that explore and tell stories about the relationship and trade-offs that exist between these two forces that are shaping the sustainability of our planet.
About Competition
This year’s theme of this photography competition is "Grow-Conserve".
As the world’s population continues to increase, so does the tension between our growing demand for more food, energy and resources, and the protection of our planet. How can we manage economic, social and technological growth in a way that supports the needs of today as well as for future generations? Bold and transformative action is needed.
The Syngenta Photography Award is an invitation to create images that make people stop and think.
Photographers, whatever their approach, are invited to submit images that explore the theme of Grow-Conserve and tell stories about the relationship and trade-offs that exist between these two forces that are shaping the sustainability of our planet.
Through compelling imagery, the Syngenta Photography Award aims to draw attention and stimulate dialogue around key global challenges.
There are two categories in which you can participate:
• Professional Commission
• Open Competition
Photographers are asked to submit between 1–3 images.
The Professional Commission invites professional photographers to explore the theme of the Award through a compelling series of 5-10 images and a creative project proposal of a maximum of 500 words that considers the theme in a more in-depth way for a commission worth 25,000 USD.
All entries are judged by a distinguished international, panel chaired by the author and curator William A. Ewing. The jury selects the 3 finalists in the Open Competition based on the quality of their work and their interpretation of the theme.
The award offers photographers an international platform for their work and also provides the opportunity to explore issues of global significance.
