The TYGRON Student Contest 2019, organized by Tygron B.V. has been recently opened for entries inviting all students to show how they would tackle the biggest problems facing our world today with their vision of a bright and sustainable tomorrow.
About Competition
Tygron Student Contest 2019 is now opened for entries inviting all students to show how they would tackle the biggest problems facing our world today with their vision of a bright and sustainable tomorrow.
Whether we like it or not, cities are the future. Today, more than half of the world’s population live in urban areas and that number is rising rapidly. Every week 1.5 million people are added to the urban population. It is expected that in 10 years around 60% of the global population live in urban areas...With the rapid expansion of urban areas in the future, the need for sustainable cities is more urgent than ever.
Enter the Tygron Student Contest 2019 and show how you would tackle the biggest problems facing our world today with your vision of a bright and sustainable tomorrow.
Guidelines:
Create a project that contributes to the Sustainable Development GoalsTygron Geodesign Platform to its full capacity. That means exploring all its options and working with the extensive data sets and indicators included in the software. However you are strongly urged to collect and use your own data and indicators as well. It will definitely impress the judges. Be quick because organizer only accept 500 entries.
Choose out one or more of seventeen predefined UN’s Sustainable Development goals:

Max size per project is 1km x 1km.
Choosing in which area you want your project should be considered thoroughly. Take into account that the publicly available data can differ between countries. In the Netherlands they have access to a lot of open data on roads, buildings, ownership, spatial plans, water, social, etc. This data will be imported automatically into your project. If you load an area where the amount of available open data is limited, it is recommended to import your own data.
The jury of experts determines who the winners are for the 3 prizes on June 14th, based on their created projects.
There is no entry fee to participate!
Eligibility
Tygron Student Contest 2019 is open to student affiliated with an educational organization. The minimum age is 16 years.
