UN-Habitat International Design Collaboration For Kenya now is over!
Students from around the world are below invited to participate in a student architeture competition for Kenya’s towns organized by UN-Habitat in collaboration with Ministry of Land, Housing & Urban Development.By this competition they looking for creative planning and design ideas for sustainable urban development in Kenya.
About Competition
This architecture competition is designed to involve international teams that will be formed by linking students from universities in Kenya with students from external universities (outside Kenya).
The teams are envisaged to be inter-disciplinary. The competition is also intended to further promote international inter-university collaboration as a platform for knowledge exchange and co-production of approaches to livable urban spaces in diverse contexts.
The jury will first select the best proposal from each of the nine towns/sites. Out of these 9, the jury will select the overall best design proposal. The team with the overall best proposal will be the Competition Winning Team. The other eight proposals will be runners-up. Each team member from the 9 best proposals will receive a certificate from UN-Habitat.
The submission deadline is 10th April 2016, however participants need to register in the competition until 1st February 2016.
The aim of the UN-Habitat International Design Collaboration For Kenya (IDCK) is to create a momentum for greater urban design uptake by demonstrating the value of urban design in implementing ISUDPs in Kenya.
There is no entry fee for this architecture competition!
Eligibility
Application is open to students of Urban Planning, Urban Design, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Urban Economics and any other relevant discipline globally.
