VAO - Visual Art Open 2019 Awards now is over!
The VAO - Visual Art Competition, a not for profit event is currently running in its 3rd consecutive year and invites both amateur and professional artists to submit they best works.
About Competition
The VAO art competition is a not for profit event open to both amateur and professional artists based in the UK and internationally. The aim is to give artists the ultimate platform to develop their passion and career in the arts sector.
Applying to the VAO gives you the chance to showcase yourself and make connections with art enthusiasts, critics and purchasers alike.
The primary goal of the awards is to reveal and establish artists’ profiles in the contemporary art world.
There are six key categories for entrants to apply to:
• Painting / Mixed Media / Printmaking
• Illustration / Drawing
• Sculpture
• Photography
• Digital
• Young Artist (Under 24)
Submission requirements:
• Artists are only permitted to enter 5 artworks into the competition. It is permitted to send a maximum of 2 images per submission.
• The painting must be a new or recent work, preferably created in the past 3 years.
If you have been shortlisted, you will be required to send your work framed in preparation of events where your artwork will be showcased. The finalists work will be placed on sale in the final exhibition, and VAO will exclusively undertake all sales of shortlisted paintings in the exhibition.
The exhibition will be accompanied by a full colour catalogue featuring images of all the paintings in the exhibition.
As each round of judging passes, your work will be promoted across our social media and website as well as the opportunity to be featured in regional and national press, opening your work to a greater audience.
Artists are only permitted to enter 5 artworks into the competition at a cost of £15 each, totaling a maximum of £75. Young Artists under the age of 24 pay £10 per artwork entry, totaling a maximum of £50 for 5 artworks entered.
Eligibility
The competition is open to both amateur and professional artists, working in one or more of the following media: drawing, printing, painting, photography, digital art, sculpture. There are no restrictions on age or place of birth.
