OSTEN Skopje is proud to announce the 52nd World Gallery Of Cartoons – Skopje 2020, cartoon competition and invites submissions by authors from around the world.
About Competition
The World Gallery Of Cartoons 2020, cartoon competition, is calling for entries! OSTEN Skopje is proud to announce the new edition of its competition, inviting submissions by authors from around the world.
OSTEN’s World Gallery of Cartoons is the one and only event of such provenance in the Republic of North Macedonia, the oldest in the Balkan and one of the most long-standing in the world. It was established back in 1969, making artistic forms like cartoon, satiric drawing and comic strips available to the wider audience. The following categories will be considered:
• cartoons,
• satirical drawing,
• comic/strip (up to one panel of non-linguistic strip)
Submission guidelines:
The theme and technique are free and left to the author’s choice.
Number of works submited are unlimited.
The original works by the cartoonists from newer production, which have not previously been published or awarded, will be considered. Submited work need to be hand-drawn.
The selectors assigned by the organizer will select the submitted works, and the international jury will appraise the short-listed works. The organizer will notify all registered cartoonists about the results of the selection (until the end of May 2020) and the jury decision (by the end of June 2020 by email and will publish the results on its website.
The awarded and selected works will be exhibited on 24 September 2020. The organizer invites all participants to attend the opening of the exhibition.
Entry fees:
Submission is free if your work remains in the OSTEN Collection. If you’d like your (unselected) works returned, a fee is $40 applies.

The World Gallery Of Cartoons Skopje 2020, cartoon competition is open to all cartoonists professional or semi-professional and amateur around the world.
