The World Illustration Awards, recognised as the most prestigious illustration awards globally organised by (AIO) Association of Illustrators has been recently opened for entries in its 2021 edition.
About Competition
The AOI World Illustration Awards, the most comprehensive and significant award and illustration competition in the UK organised by (AIO) Association of Illustrators in partnership with USA-based Directory of Illustration, has been recently opened for entries for 2021.
The World Illustration Awards promotes exceptional work by illustrators and presents illustration as a major force in global visual culture.
Categories
Work must be entered into one of the 10 categories. These are very broadly defined to welcome work of all types and in all contexts where illustration is used:

➜ Commercial Publishing
➜ Alternative Publishing
➜ Children's Publishing
➜ Design, Product & Packaging
➜ Editorial
➜ Exploration
➜ Science & Technology
➜ Site Specific
Submission requirements
The Awards are international and open worldwide to illustrators working across all sectors and in any medium. Work entered for the competition must have been created or published after 1 January 2020. Entrants can submit as many entries as they choose and in as many different categories as they feel is appropriate.
Evaluation Criteria
Organiser are looking for work which is:
➜ Technically excellent,
➜ Communicates its idea or message brilliantly,
➜ Explores illustration as an artform
Eligibility
This competitopn is open worldwide to illustrators over the age of 18.
Prize
➜ 2,000 GBP for the Overall Professional Winner
➜ 1,000 GBP for the Overall New Talent Winner
Moreover, the Overall Professional Winner will also receive a two-page marketing package in the Directory of Illustration, including a 100-image professional portfolio.
Entry fees
Entry fee cost £29 (GBP) per Single Entry and £49 (GBP) per Multiple Entry (inclusive of VAT). AOI Members receive a discount of 20% off their entry fees.
