YouFab Global Creative Awards 2017 now is over!
YouFab Global Creative Awards that every year recognizes and celebrates creative works and inventions, has been recently opened for entries for 2017 inviting anyone to take a part.
About Competition
Over the years, YouFab creative award have evolved into a global platform that recognizes and promotes extraordinary trials, initiatives and creative works that bring together digital and physical elements.
It recognises and celebrates creative works and inventions that stem from powerful collaborations between digital and physical fabrication.
The theme of this year’s YouFab is ’Rock it!’.
There are endless possibilities to what we can create in this world in which creativity blurs the lines between digital and physical, and there are many approaches and perspectives we are yet to imagine.
They want to challenge the idea of sensible, defying sound judgement and “hack” common sense. They are truly looking forward to seeing entries that align with this spirit and are looking to support such works.
Even if the output is in its drafting stages we will still evaluate the attempt and future potentials of the work.
There is a two different categories:
- student: this category is only for those who are enrolled in a university or collage at the time of entry. There are no entry restrictions about age or nationality.
- general: this category does not have any restrictions about age or nationality. Anyone can enter, including corporations.
Submissions should be creative experiments, works and inventions that stem from powerful collaborations between digital and physical fabrications. These submissions can encompass physical products, art, architecture, or intangible projects such as performing arts, events, workshops and experiments.
Examples of Fab machines to make your work: 3D printer, laser cutter, UV printer, digital sewing machine, cutting machine, CNC milling machine, CNC router and electronic tools.
Examples of software to make your work: 3D Modeling & Design Software, 2D Design & 2DCAD Software
A condition of entry is that the submitted work has to be in its completed/operational form created with such machines as digital fabrication tools and not left in the conceptual phase of design plans or proposals. Submissions can be something that has already been launched, or something yet to be unveiled.
There is no limit to the number of entries you can submit. Copyright of the submitted works belongs to the entrant.
Notification of Initial Screening Finalists will be by mid December.
Those who are awarded will automatically gain eligibility to exhibit their awarded projects at the Exhibition of Awarded Works held in early February of 2018.
The Award ceremony will be held on early March 2018.
There is no entry fee for this competition.
