Young European Artist Trieste Contemporanea 2019 has been recently opened for entries inviting all young artists from Central Eastern Europe, aged under 30, with aim of promoting their works on the international art scene.
About Competition
Young European Artist Trieste Contemporanea 2019 now is calling for artist!
Trieste Contemporanea. Dialogues with the Art of Central Eastern Europe’ is a committee created with the objective of bringing out the role of Trieste as a hinge between Western Europe, the countries of Eastern Europe and the countries of the Mediterranean area for the creation in Trieste of an observatory on the contemporary situation of art and culture in Central-Eastern Europe.
Since 1999, the Trieste Contemporanea Committee organize this art award dedicate to a young artist with the aim of promoting their work on the international art scene. From 2013 this award has become biennial event that now attracts the interest of designers from 23 European countries.
This initiatives held in Trieste and abroad is dedicated to visual art, music, cinema, literature, multimediality, theatre, architecture and design.
Submission requirements:
Participants must be born within the 18th of August, 1989 and present an updated portfolio. Applicants should register to the competition using the online form and attach the portfolio and an Identification Document (PDF or JPG format, max 500 KB).
The portfolio should be PDF format, max 3MB and composed by images (of at least 5 recent works, with captions and brief descriptions), a CV, an artistic statement (max 500 words) and, in case, should include bibliography/sitography. The text of the portfolio should be written in English. Any groups wishing to participate should fill out the form with the name and ID of the group leader and just list the names, countries and dates of birth of the other group members, which have to be born in the countries to which the call is open and aged up to 30.
All eligible applications will be examined by a judging committee comprising experts and curators of contemporary art from Central Eastern Europe.
The awards ceremony will take place in Trieste, Italy. The winning designers will be invited to travel to Trieste at the organizing Committee’s expense in order to collect their prize.

Eligibility
Young European Artist Trieste Contemporanea Award 2019 is open to any young artist aged up to 30 and born in one of the following countries: Albania, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Kosovo, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Serbia, Slovenia, Turkey and Ukraine.
