AG360, organizing company of Architecture Ideas Contests, is pleased to welcome all architects and architecture students from around the world to the International Architecture Competition “MOUNTAIN SPA”.

THE SITE

Val Lumnezia is a locality in Surselva and has about 2,020 inhabitants and an elevation of 1,255 meters. It is located in a natural area on the side of the Alps mountain range in Grisons, Switzerland. The valley is a region in eastern Switzerland bordering Italy, Austria and Liechtenstein.

Lumnezia is only accessible via the Via Principal road from Ilanz. It can be reached from Zurich and Chur.

The area to be intervened has an area of approximately 6,970m2 next to the main road of the valley, with a semi-regular plain and an altitude of 1,290m. Its strategic location marks the end of the Val Lumnezia tourist route with the best prospects and views of the valley.

The extensive region is characterized by a fascinating nature, mountain peaks, rivers, lakes, as well as a lot of tranquility and spaces for contemplation. The MOUNTAIN SPA is presented as a real and different option for all those who wish to be in balance with the natural ecosystem, in a relaxing environment and in the midst of contemporary architecture.

A Mountain Spa with a pool of thermal waters, jacuzzis and a coffee shop will be created, as an architectural element of contemplation for tourists and skiers in the area, in the middle of the snowy landscape of the Swiss Alps.

An architectural element of contemplation will be created as a temporary shelter space, amidst the snowy landscape of the Swiss Alps. The Mountain Spa will offer visitors the experience of an open-air hot springs spa, with private Jacuzzis and all the infrastructure for a day of total relaxation. The Spa will have a coffee shop and a viewpoint, its mere presence will mark a milestone in the landscape and will become a must for visitors and tourists in the area.

It should be designed as a construction that can withstand the effects of time and easy maintenance. At all times you must Prioritize the natural landscape.

This competition will conclude in an exhibition of the best works presented, on the AG360 website (www.concursosag360.com), as well as a sample in various important architecture sites worldwide.

Submission requirements

The delivery will consist of 2 digital images: (A and B) in horizontal format (488mm x 336mm), saved as JPG., 8 Megabytes maximum per image. The presentation technique will be absolutely free, at the discretion of the designer. However, it is recommended to include the following information:

➜ CONCEPT: Sketches, diagrams or graphics explaining the concept of the project and its operation.
➜ FLOOR OR FLOORS: Showing the entire project and its location as a whole.
➜ SECCTION: Section of the architectural element.

IMAGE B

➜ PERSPECTIVES: Exterior and interior views of the desing.
➜ CONSTRUCTION: Explanatory development of the construction system.
➜ SUSTAINABILITY: Sustainable proposal of the proyect.

Evaluation Criteria

The criteria for the evaluation of the proposals will be given by:

➜ Architectural aesthetics in the natural landscape.
➜ Sustainable contribution and feasibility.

This ideas contest ia aimed at all graduate architects and architecture students in the world, as long as Spanish is kept as the official language.
