Meitar Award for Excellence in Photography 2022: The Meitar Award for Excellence in Photography 2022 has been recently opened for entries, organized by PHOTO IS:RAEL and the Zvi and Ofra Meitar Family Fund, now in its 7th year awards photographers whose work has demonstrated excellence in the field of photography.
About Competition
The Meitar Award for Excellence in Photography 2022, a collaboration between PHOTO IS:RAEL and the Zvi and Ofra Meitar Family Fund, will be awarded for the 7th time this year for a body of work that demonstrates excellence in the field of photography.
A professional independent jury of leading international professionals will review all shortlisted candidates anonymously and will select a photographer who demonstrates thought, quality, originality, and excellence in photography, as well as the potential to create a comprehensive body of work suitable for a solo exhibition.
All submissions will be reviewed by a panel of leading international professionals who specialize in the field of photography, art and culture. The judges will be expected to select a series or body of work which represents a distinct and compelling personal voice.
The 20 finalists will be showcased in a group exhibition at the International Photography Festival in November 2022 in Tel-Aviv. During the course of that year, the winner will work on the exhibition together with PHOTO IS:RAEL’s Chief Curator.

Submission requirements
➜ You may submit 1 entry only.
➜ You can submit 6-12 images.
➜ Applications must be submitted in English.
➜ All images must be in JPEG/JPG format, at least 1000px on their long side and no bigger than 2MB each.
➜ There is no restriction to submitting work that has already been part of other photo competitions.
➜ Any manipulation of the photo is possible.
Prize
The winner will receive a $14,000 grant, composed of a personal grant of $2,500, curatorial guidance, and the production of a solo exhibition that will be part of the 2022 International Photography Festival. This year’s winner will receive a $14,000 grant for the publication of a solo exhibition at PHOTO IS:RAEL International Photography Festival.
Entry fees
Early registration rate is $42 and is available until 18 July 2022. After that date the rate will be $54. The fee includes a free entry ticket to the Photography Festival for all submitting artists.
