The International Pro Carton Young Designers Award is a design competition for new ideas in the field of carton and carton board applications. The aim of this competition is to find unrealised design solutions and conceptual designs and ideas by students made of cartonboard which have so far not been realised, to present them to the widest possible audience, and, if possible, to put them into practice.
The first Pro Carton Design Award took place in 2002 starting in Spain and Belgium. Other national design awards soon followed in another ten European countries. 2004 saw the first European competition.
