GIRAF 14 – International Festival of Independent Animation 2018

GIRAF 14 – International Festival of Independent Animation 2018 now is over!

The Quickdraw Animation Society has started accepting submissions for 2018, for its 4th animation competition titled GIRAF International Festival of Independent Animation bringing the best independent animation from around the world to Calgary.

About Competition

Animation competition titled GIRAF 14 - International Festival of Independent Animation organised by Quickdraw Animation Society (QAS), a non-profit, artist-run centre in Calgary Alberta, (Canada), is accepting submissions for 2018.

This annual animation festival that runs each November at the Globe Cinema in Calgary, GIRAF celebrates the spirit of independent, underground, and experimental animation, showcasing Canadian animators and presenting diverse animations from around the globe.

The organizers of this cmpetition are looking for animation submissions, in all styles, genres, lengths, and mediums, to present to their audience in Calgary, Canada.
That can mean abstract or narrative, hand-drawn or computer-generated, student films or well-established professionals, or somewhere in between. They want films they can be excited about, films that are pushing forward what animation can do, and films that make them feel things (even if that feeling is just "oh my gosh, this is ridiculous").

GIRAF presents independent animation that pushes boundaries through the use of new techniques, unique visions, and stimulating subject matter.

Submitted films can be abstract or narrative, hand-drawn or computer-generated, student films or well-established professionals, or somewhere in between excluding commercial work!

There is no entry fees for this competition!
