Montreal International Poetry Prize 2024, run by the Department of English at McGill University in Montreal, Canada, now is calling for entries!
This prize is committed to encouraging the creation of original works of poetry, to building international readership, and to exploring the world’s Englishes.
Entries may be on any topic.
A jury of internationally reputed poets and critics selects a shortlist of approximately 60 poems, from which a judge chooses one winner. The shortlists is published in The Montreal Poetry Prize Anthology.
Submission requirements
➜ Entries may be any length
➜ All entries must be primarily in English. The inclusion of a few non-English words or phrases is acceptable.
Who may enter?
Entries may be submitted from anywhere in the world. All Entrants shall be of the age of majority in their legal jurisdiction of residency at the time of entry submission.
Prize
The winner will receive $20,000 CAD. The shortlists will be published in The Montreal Poetry Prize Anthology.
Entry fees
➜ Regular entry (from competition opening to 1 May 2024): $20 CAD
➜ Late entry (from 2 to 15 May 2024): $25 CAD
➜ Additional entry: $17 CAD for every additional entry
