CANON New Cosmos Of Photography 2018: Canon Photo Contest, New Cosmos of Photography 2018 is opened for entries with aim to discover, nurture, and support talented new photographers attempting to redefine the boundaries of creative photographic expression.
The New Cosmos of Photography 2018, sponsored by Canon, is the photo contest aimed to discover, nurture, and support talented new photographers attempting to redefine the boundaries of creative photographic expression.
This encourages creative endeavours that pursue original, unfettered photographic expressions and push the possibilities of photography.
Photography has been around for more than 170 years. Over this period, advances in technology have expanded the domain of cameras from film to digital, from still images to videos. And with the spread of the Internet, smartphones, social media, and other recent innovations, it is easy for anyone today to take photos and enjoy communicating through photography.
Given the changed landscape around photography, organised decided to take advantage of the New Cosmos of Photography’s 25th anniversary and accept both printed works by postal mail or courier and digital works (still images and videos) through online submission.
Photographic works are defined as image data taken with any device, including smartphones and digital cameras, capable of taking still images or videos. Photographic works that have been processed or manipulated with camera apps, image editing apps, or other software are acceptable. Both color and black and white works are accepted. Images taken with film cameras and converted to image data with a scanner are acceptable as well.
Both individuals and groups may enter the contest. Entry by groups, however, is restricted to groups that plan to continue activities as a group in the future.
Each applicant (individual or group) may enter only 1 work. The same person may not enter simultaneously as an individual and a group.
The image size should be 1200 x 1600 pixels or larger (recommended). The recommended file format is JPEG with a resolution of 72 dpi. The color space standard used in the judging process is sRGB.
There is no entry fees for this contest.
The is open to both professional and amateur photographers. There are no restrictions on nationality, age and gender. Persons under the age of 16 cannot enter the contest without the consent of a parent or guardian.
There is no entry fee to participate!
