PHOTO IS:RAEL, photography competition now is calling for entries inviting artists to submit proposals for participation in the central exhibition at the 8th International Photography Festival, in Tel Aviv in November 2020.
The theam of this year competition is “Transformation“.
What does transformation mean to you?
Transformation can be associated with the environment, politics, technology, identity, physical appearance, personal journeys, perspectives, behavior and even the everchanging medium of photography.
Life, from birth to death, can be viewed as a series of transformations.
In the digital age, the human and natural worlds are going through endless transformations.
Transformation can be specific - move from one situation to another, or an ongoing process that unfolds over time.
Transformation can be cyclical, one-directional or unpredictable. At the upcoming festival, organiser will seek to explore the term transformation from multiple perspectives, interpretations and innovative methods of representation through photography or other forms of media.
Artists working with photography, video, performance, and multimedia from around the world and at different stages of their career are all welcome to submit their existing works, or proposals for new work on the topic of transformation.
• You can submit up to 12 images, subject to the type of project proposed. For a video work / installation you need to add a link to view the work. You may submit 1 entry only.
• For non-existing works, you need to include a detailed description of the idea, supported by sketches / sample images.
• Applications must be submitted in English or Hebrew.
• All images must be in JPEG/JPG and not larger than 2MB each.
A jury of leading experts spanning a wide range of artistic genres will review the open call submissions and select the exhibiting artists. The artistic committee will looking for exceptional works that give an original and profound interpretation to the festival’s theme.
Entry fee is $15 and includes a free entry ticket to the PHOTO IS:RAEL 2020 Festival for all submitting artists.
Photographers as well as video, performance and interdisciplinary artists from around the world and at different stages of their career are all welcome to participate in this photography competition.
20 artists will be invited to present their work in the festival’s central exhibition, and will also be featured on the website and in the festival catalog. 50 additional artists will be invited to present their works in front of an audience of professionals in a special screening event during the festival.
