IntreccinCantiere Contest of Ideas: Manifattura di Domodossola Spa, a leading textiles company for over 100 years, is a proud to announce the 6th edition of INTRECCINCANTIERE, an international textile design competition for young artists and students of design courses and art schools.
About Competition
Manifattura di Domodossola Spa, a leading textiles company for over 100 years, is a proud sponsor of the 6th edition of INTRECCINCANTIERE, a contest of ideas and international textile design competition for young artists and students of design courses and art schools.
This competition is run in collaboration with Lineapelle network, Gruppo BPMand, starting from this edition, with International Festival Tones on the Stones, and is aimed at discovering new talents and the future key players of Made in Italy.
Guidelines:
The goal of this competition is to create a project/prototype for leather goods, furniture, footwear, costume design, jewelry sectors by using the company’s famous braidings.
Participants will use Manifattura di Domodossola braids to create finished products destined for the Leather Goods, Interior Design, Footwear, Jewellery and Costume Design sectors.
Each group or competitor is asked to indicate only one sector in which they intend to compete.
The registration must be received no later than 07 January 2020.
Submission requirements:
Participation is possible, either individually or in groups of maximum 3 persons. In both cases, only 1 project can be submitted.
Under the supervision of a single teacher, participating school groups may submit up to 10 different prototypes. The objects can be produced either individually or in small groups. The teachers are therefore invited to makean internal selection and submit only the 10 best projects/creations to the competition.
The projects must be accompanied by a short presentation describing the idea and the aims.
The projects must be original and unpublished.
For the Interior design sector only, participants may submit a paper project. An actual prototype must be submitted in all other cases.
The creations sent will be judged by a jury formed of highly qualified members from the fashion world and from the specialised press.
The objects created will be exhibited and judged during Lineapelleevent (Fieramilano – Rho) from 19 to 21 February 2020, at the Manifattura di Domodossola stand.
There is no entry fee to participate!
Eligibility
This textile design competition is open to Italian and foreign young designers under 30 years of age. No academic qualification is required. Participation is possible, either individually or in groups of maximum 3 persons.
